Players, Managers, Co-managers. This includes salaries, match payments, signing fees, bonuses, sponsorship payments, or any other financial benefit. Teams that do not declare paid agreements will be treated as amateur or unpaid teams and must not privately offer payments without notifying the PFL.

Written Contracts

All paid arrangements must be confirmed in writing. Verbal promises, informal messages, or private agreements that have not been properly documented will not be recognised as official PFL contracts.

Each contract must clearly state:

The names of the team and contracted individual

The agreed salary, payment, bonus, or expenses

Payment dates and payment method

The length of the agreement

The responsibilities of both parties

The process for ending the agreement

The consequences of missed payments or breaches

The rules relating to transfers or leaving during the season

PFL Registration and Approval

A copy of every paid contract must be submitted to the PFL before the player, manager, or staff member is registered for the season.

The PFL must be included as an overseeing party or provided with a signed copy of the agreement. The PFL will keep contracts confidential and will only use them when necessary to confirm registration, investigate disputes, or enforce league rules.

Any contract that has not been submitted to the PFL may be considered invalid for league purposes.

Proof of Financial Ability

A team offering paid contracts may be required to provide reasonable evidence that it has the financial ability to meet its commitments.

The PFL may introduce one or more of the following requirements:

A refundable team deposit

A payment bond or financial guarantee

Proof of available funds

Advance payment of part of the contracted amount

A protected payment account or escrow system

These measures may be applied depending on the value and length of the contracts being offered.

Payment Records

Teams must keep clear records of all payments made under registered contracts.

Players, managers, and co-managers should also keep evidence of payments received and any outstanding amounts. The PFL may request these records when investigating a complaint.

Any missed or delayed payment must be reported to the PFL promptly. Teams must not ignore payment complaints or make repeated promises without providing a clear resolution.

Leaving or Transferring During the Season

A contracted player, manager, or co-manager must not leave their team, join another team, or negotiate a transfer without following the terms of their contract and the PFL transfer process.

The individual must provide written notice to their current team and notify the PFL. The PFL may pause or reject a transfer where:

Contractual payments remain outstanding

The required notice has not been given

The individual remains under contract

The receiving team has encouraged a breach of contract

A dispute is currently being investigated

Teams must also not remove, release, or abandon a contracted individual without following the agreed termination process.

Dispute Resolution

Where a disagreement occurs, both parties must first attempt to resolve the matter in writing.

If the issue remains unresolved, either party may submit a formal complaint to the PFL with supporting evidence, including:

The signed contract

Messages or correspondence

Payment records

Notices of termination or transfer

Any other relevant documents

The PFL may review the matter, speak to the parties involved, and issue a league decision. The PFL’s role will be to enforce league regulations and registration requirements. Parties may still seek independent legal advice where appropriate.

Penalties for Teams

A team that fails to declare, register, or honour a paid agreement may face one or more of the following sanctions:

A formal warning

A deadline to pay outstanding amounts

A financial penalty

Deduction of league points

A transfer or registration ban

Suspension of the team or responsible officials

Removal from PFL competitions

Loss of any team deposit

A ban on offering paid contracts in future seasons

Referral to the relevant football or legal authorities where appropriate

More serious sanctions may be applied where there is evidence of repeated misconduct, deliberate deception, fraudulent promises, or abandonment of players and staff.

Penalties for Players and Managers

Players, managers, or co-managers who breach a registered contract, leave without notice, or join another team without permission may face:

A temporary registration suspension

A transfer restriction

A requirement to complete the proper release process

Disciplinary action

Suspension from PFL competitions

No individual will be penalised for leaving because of serious unpaid wages, safeguarding concerns, or a significant breach by the team, provided the matter is reported to the PFL and supported by reasonable evidence.

Responsibility of the Receiving Team

Teams must check a player’s or manager’s registration and contractual status before approaching or signing them.

A team that knowingly encourages an individual to breach an existing agreement may face disciplinary action, including registration restrictions, point deductions, fines, or suspension.

Standard PFL Contract

The PFL will provide a standard contract template that teams may use. This will ensure that important terms are included and that all parties clearly understand their responsibilities.

Teams may use their own contracts, but they must meet the minimum PFL requirements and be submitted for registration.

Education and Support

Before each season, the PFL will provide guidance to teams, players, and managers covering:

How paid contracts should operate

The importance of reading agreements before signing

Payment and record-keeping responsibilities

Transfer and release procedures

How to report unpaid wages or contractual breaches

The disciplinary consequences of breaking an agreement

No player, manager, or team official should sign a contract they do not understand. Independent advice should be obtained where necessary.

Duty to Report Changes

Any change to a registered agreement must be confirmed in writing and submitted to the PFL. This includes changes to payment, contract length, responsibilities, termination, or transfer arrangements.

Private amendments that have not been reported to the PFL may not be recognised.

Implementation

These requirements will apply from the beginning of the next PFL registration period.

All teams must complete a paid-contract declaration before their registrations are approved. Any existing agreement that continues into the new season must also be submitted to the PFL.

By introducing these rules, the PFL aims to create a safer, fairer, and more professional environment in which teams honour their commitments and players, managers, and officials respect their contractual responsibilities.

For any specific situation which is not listed in the Rules, the relevant Admin Team is entitled to take a decision based outside of the rules.

✅ By following these rules, you help maintain a fair, competitive, and enjoyable environment in the PFL Europe league.

PFL Champions League Rules

1. Account & Team Requirements

• Account Verification:

Players must link their gaming IDs (e.g., PSN, Xbox) to their PFL profile only if their PFL username differs from their Gamer ID. Failure to do so results in a default loss.

All teams must link their club on FC26 in order to generate auto results and player stats.

• Lineup Submission:

Teams must submit their lineups before kick-off.

First missed submission: Warning

Second missed submission: Default loss

• Player Contracts:

All players must be officially contracted to the correct team. Playing with an unsigned or incorrectly registered player results in an automatic default loss.

Contracted players can only play for 1 team throughout the cup and cannot play for other teams while grouped.

A player may only be released if they have not played a single game, and this requires admin approval.

From the knockout stage onward player contracts will be locked and from semi finals no player movement will be allowed and no new signings will be processed.

• Roster Size:

Teams may have a maximum of 20 players. Additional players require purchasing a premium upgrade.

• Team Promotion:

All teams must have an active Twitter account for promotional purposes.

• Internal / External Issues:

The PFL will only manage incidents that occur within PFL servers.

We cannot handle complaints from social media platforms except those involving racism, harassment, or discrimination.

• Match Score Submission:

Team managers or assistants must submit match results after each game.

• Live Draw:

Group stage draws will be automatically generated and published on the PFL website.

2. Manager Responsibilities

Managers sign a minimum one-competition management contract.

Managers must ensure their team follows all PFL rules.

Managers must recruit an Assistant Manager and sign all players.

Lineups must be submitted before kick-off; repeated failure leads to warnings then defaults.

Managers must verify that all lineup players are correctly contracted and that Gamer Tags are up-to-date.

Match results must be submitted on match days. Consistent failure may result in sanctions.

Managers must coordinate with opposing managers and ensure matches start on time.

Managers may request a 5-minute kick-off delay for league or cup matches if requested before the scheduled start time.

Managers must stream matches (YouTube, Twitch, etc.) to provide proof in case of disputes.

Manager must follow the height restriction rule shown on our discord and ensure all players are in correct height.

Managers must maintain professional team communication. Unprofessional or abusive messages may result in bans.

3. Match Scheduling & Format

• Rescheduling:

A scheduled match cannot be rescheduled twice.

If a match is not played, a default loss is applied.

• Late Kick-off:

A 5-minute delay is allowed if requested before the scheduled time.

If it impacts the play (e.g., leads to a goal), a default loss may be issued.

• Time-Wasting:

Deliberate time-wasting—including holding the ball in the corner—may result in a default loss, pending admin review.

Goalkeeper Interference is not allowed. Intentional bumping or blocking the goalkeeper will result in the removal of a goal scored or a loss if it has a significant impact on the game/result. Evidence will be needed as to show if this did happen.

If a match is started without a full 11 players and a lag-out occurs before half time, the match must be restarted with the same number of players that were on the field when the game began.

If more than four players have a ping higher than 100 ms at the start of the game, teams are permitted to back out. Proof showing all affected players with high ping must be submitted.

If the home team is unable to resolve the issue on their end, they will not be allowed to host their home game. The expected maximum ping from the UK to Russia is 50–100 ms , Spain & Portugal to Russia 70-100+ ms (Depending on servers)

7. Communication & Responsiveness

Teams must communicate any delays well in advance.

Failure to notify opponents or admins in time may result in penalties.

Lateness Rules

No last-minute messages:

Do not message the opponent at the exact match time or later (e.g., at 8 PM). This appears unprepared and may lead to penalties.

Anticipate delays:

If you expect any delay (availability, technical issues, etc.), you must inform the opponent before the match time—not after it has already passed.

Technical issues:

If experiencing game access problems, inform the opponent immediately.

Delaying communication may lead to a default loss.

Clear, early communication is essential to avoid penalties.

8. Match Outcomes

Must be played on the same night.

If not possible, default win/loss applies.
